As a Recruiting Leader & Career Coach I‘m always encouraging job seekers to do their research. When you do, pay attention to the information you find and move forward clearly and decisively. Don’t mince words in your communication. If your research increased your level of interest, say so. If it didn’t, say so! Your feedback may be just what they need to do better.
As an example, below is a screenshot of a rejection email I sent to a recruiter after doing my research and seeing 2-star ratings and a ton of bad reviews from the very people I’d be expected to lead. I was turned off immediately and reached out less than 5 minutes after our chat to decline the opportunity and wish THEM the best in their search.
Feel free to use this as a guide in your job search.
